Goodies & Some Grumbling!!

Happy Monday Everyone!!
Last day off, then back to work!
My gosh, the weekends go by to fast.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

I finally got all my Christmas decoration boxes carried down to the basement. And I have the main portion of the house all cleaned up.
I still need to find a place to store all these decorations though.
The closet I usually put them in, just wont hold it all anymore.
I swear... I need to stop buying Christmas decorations.
Every year my collection grows and grows!! LOL!!

I finally got around to taking photos of the two quilts I bought while on my trip to TN.
I love them!!
They really are Gorgeous!!
This one is my favorite out of the two.

Just look at the wonderful colors and early fabrics!!

I wouldn't consider it a cutter, even though it isn't in perfect condition.
It does have some slight yellowing spots and a couple small holes to the top fabrics.
But I know, I wouldn't have the heart to cut it!!!

Here is the 2nd one...

This one isn't in quite as good condition as the blue one, but I still like it.
It does have wear to most of the brown fabric, but other than that it is in pretty darn good condition.

I haven't decided yet if I am going to keep them or list them on my website or on eBay.
Decisions... Decisions!!

I also got this cute prim dress from eBay last week.
Its a reproduction but still cute as can be!!

My MIL surprised me with this cute little lamp.

The thing with this lamp is... it is an aroma lamp.
There is a little portion on the top where you pour the oil.
And it works wonderfully!!
It fills the whole room with the scent.

I have question for all of you though....
This is touch lamp.
I don't really like how it has a silver base, so I was wanting to paint it black.
Can I?
I mean, since it is a touch lamp, will that mess anything up?
Would the paint keep it from working?

Tell me if you know?
I certainly don't want to tear it up, I just would rather the base be black.

Okay, Now onto the grumbling portion of my post!!!

I spent the weekend cleaning up my house.
And as I was doing so, I realized something that is getting on my nerves terribly!!

MY HUBBY AND HIS PILES!!!

I swear, the man has little piles everywhere!!!
And Lord forbid I should clean them up!!!

What the heck am I talking about???

Well, let me show you.....

Kitchen

Master Bathroom

Mud Room

Plus he usually has stuff piled up on the dining room table.
But I guess, since it has had Christmas decoration boxes in there, he hasn't found a free space.
Just give him time... it will be back!!

And this is just the main portion of the house.
Don't even get me started on the basement!!!

I do love the man but some days (Like today)... I want to find a broom and beat him with it!!! LOL!!!

Okay, my Gripe Fest is over for now!! :)
I need to go do some more laundry and finish up some things before heading out to pick my daughter up from school.

Until next time....
Take Care!!
And Prim Filled Blessings to you All!!!

They say you gotta pick your battles. Maybe if you found a basket for each area and told him it was for him and for your peace of mind, he would use it. Just a thought.....

I have a basket by the door that hubby puts stuff in, his phone charger, hat, cell phone etc. That way, it's handy when he
goes back out the door in the morning.
You could even use a wooden box with a lid,
anywhere in the house, just for his stuff!

Great quilts Tammy. I wouldn't cut up either of them. I don't know if painting the base of the lamp would affect it or not.

I love the quilts Tammy in spite of their imperfections. I don't think painting the base of your lamp would hurt but then again I don't know for sure. Let us know what you decide.

Please let me know if you decide to sell the quilts. alilsomethin@comcast.net

When my wonderful hubby gets on my nerves with his leaving dishes around I try to remember how much I would miss it if he weren't around to do it. Helps me cope !! :)

Great quilts. Love both colors. I think that the base would be great on flat black paint.

Tammy,
Loveeeeeee the quilts !!! I wouldn't cut either one either. Try contacting the manufacturer of your lamp by email or phone and ask if it would hurt your lamp. I don't think it would but I'm not an expert. Hope your week has started out fantastic!!

I love that lamp! And those quilts ~ oh my! I couldn't cut them up either! My hubby leaves his stuff everywhere too, drives me insane! I guess it's just something we have to put up with. Hope you have a great week!

Hi Tammy,
I love your new quilts. I wouldn't cut them, either. They will still display nicely. I have the same problem with piles from Hubby. My kitchen counters are always covered with "stuff". I've tried designating baskets or boxes. It doesn't work. I just keep picking up behind him. I tell myself it's minor. It could always be worse.
Stay warm!

LOVING THE QUILTS...ESPECIALLY THE ONE IN REDS....GORGEOUS!
I'd repair them as good as can be and enjoy them folded up someplace or draped on something. Folded at the end of a bed.

We have little piles like that everywhere...I gues it's just how we all live...just plain ole everyday living.

It's very cold here as well as down there kiddo.

Have a good evening.

LOVE those quilts! I can never have enough old quilts. I'd have a hard time cutting them, too.

I wouldn't think painting the lamp would mess anything up. I'd go for it!

Thanks for saying exactly how I feel! Maybe I should let me dear hubby read your post! LOL! ~~Annie

Hi Tammy!

I too have to deal with 'the piles' here and agree with the others that you have to pick your battles. We've been together 10 years and it was for better or worse... I guess that if this is the worse, I will take it! :)

I love the quilts!

I am so GLAD to know my hubby isn't the only one who does this crap AND that I'm not the only one going CRAZY over it!! LOL
I feel your pain Tam!!

LoVe those quilts...
I say keep 'em!!

And the lamp will look great painted...don't believe painting it will cause it not to work but I would check with a touch lamo company about that one first!!

Could you try to put a few layers of tape on the lamp to see if it will still work through the tape? I would think if it works through the tape, it could work through a layer or two of paint. No experience with this, but rather a suggestion...

Just drooling over your quilts. Definitely not cutters! My hubs leave piles too, but he claims that's better than stuff strung out all over...

What a great idea, Christine!
I'll give it a try.

Making piles...oh yes....Hubby's are very good at them! I was wondering if you had thought of wrapping the lamp in some homespun...again...it may not work with the extra padding, but it would be worth a try! I have seen the candle bases alot over the holidays.....
