Gatlinburg + Some New Goodies

Good Evening everyone!!

Well, I’m a little late on posting.  (What’s new, huh!)

Our little mini vacation kicked my butt.  LOL!! I don't think I have walked so much in years.  I'm just now getting over being sore. Yes, pretty sad.

I admit it…I'm out of shape! Heehee!

Our trip to Gatlinburg went pretty good.

Hubby and I had a good time.  I think the girls did too.

But at their age it is hard to tell.  Teenagers! Gotta love ‘em.

We were going non stop from Friday morning until Saturday evening.  I was trying to take in as much as possible. Plus trying to get all the outside events in before the rain set in.

It rained Friday evening but we were heading back to the hotel for the night, so I guess that was okay.

But Saturday…. we got caught out in a DOWN POUR!!!

The sky got so dark it actually scared me.  But no bad storms just rain and lots of it.  We got soaked.

Here are some photos of our trip.

You wont see many of me…. I HATE to get my photo taken!! LOL!!

Breakfast Friday morning.  Yes, I looked thrilled to have my picture taken, huh.

My daughter is in the purple shirt and her BFF, Natalie, is the one leaning in on the other side.

Yes, they look enough alike to be sisters, but they aren't related.  ;)

The girls doing some shopping in down town Gatlinburg.

Brett being silly!! :)

The girls looking at the penguins at the aquarium in downtown Gatlinburg.

The girls rock jumping in the stream.

Yes, Hubby being silly again!!

The girls ice skating for the first time.

It took Kortney a few minutes to get the feel of it.  But once she did, she did really good.

Natalie hated it, so she quit early. :(

Me and the girls, Saturday, at Ober Gatlinburg.

Brett and the girls Go Cart racing.

That is him in front and Natalie catching up FAST!! :)

Kortney, Well…

Go Cart racing isn't her thing.

Right after I snapped this photo, she wrecked!!!

It really wasn't her fault.  This is when the rain was starting. And as you may be able to tell the track was getting wet.  She hit a slick spot on the curve and spun!!

After that…. well…. You could tell, she just wanted to get off.  :(

Since this trip was for Kortney, I really didn't do any shopping.  Drove past all my favorite antique stores and Christmas shops.  But I had to stop by “Primitive Treasures”!! Just had to!!! ;)

So Brett and the girls walked through some of the other local shops and I ran into PT’s and bought a few things.

Here is what I got.

I love this candle holder and fake flicker candle!!

I was actually wanting one of these and was thrilled when I saw them there!!

I think it fills in the spot next to the settle perfectly.  You might also notice the little hooked rug I bought.

I loved the colors in this!!

And lastly I got this wonderful reproduction sampler.

Oopps!! I forgot, I did run inside one small antique store.

I don't remember the name of it though.

But I found this old wooden wash board there.

One solid piece of wood and it has ridges on both sides.

At Dollywood, I bought this cute pineapple candle.

The girls didn't enjoy Dollywood at all.  Which really surprised me.  But they said everything was too spread out and they kept getting lost.

Well, if they would've stuck with me I could've helped them find things.  But they insisted on going off alone.

Here are a few more new goodies I have gotten this week.

I purchased a lot of berry steams off eBay.

I put some of them in my small bucket.

I also got this cute lamp from the Rabbit Patch. I replaced the mustard lamp with this one.

Price $30!!!

Cant beat that!!

I also got this cute Prim Colonial candle holder off the clearance table.

Not sure where I am going to put it.  But for now it is sitting in the foyer.

I want to end this post with some more good news!!!

When I arrived home from my trip, I had an email from Evelyn, Lee Hill Primitives.

I was the very lucky winner of her Colonial Giveaway!!

Yeah!! I am thrilled.

I will be sure to show it off when it arrives.

Thanks so much Evelyn!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me.

Going to go get ready for Grey’s Anatomy. :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Until Next Time…

Take Care and Prim Filled Blessings To You ALL!!!

Hey Tammy,
Looks and sounds like y'all had a good time! I love the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. Hubby and I are planning a weekend getaway for the 4th of July there. We only live 2 1/2 hours away so we try to go several weekends a year. I'd move there if he gave the go ahead! Love all your goodies!

Gee Tammy your got some great stuff while you were on vacation. Looks as though everyone had a great time. My daughter is 14 and she loved Dollywood better than Disney. Go figure. I guess to each his own. Congrats on winning Evelyn's giveaway.

I also love Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, such wonderful scenery! Been there twice, Easter weekend this year and 3 years ago.. rented a cabin both times. I live in Canada so it's about a 12-hour drive, can only go once every few years but I'm planning on going again. I loved Dollywood! Glad you had such a great time :)
