Signs Of Fall At the Young’s Homestead

Hello Everyone!

Well, Over the last few days between working and fighting off some type of bug that is going around, I have been dragging out some of my Fall decor items.

I still have a few more things to do.

Not mention some tweaking here and there.

Oh, And I also wanted to ask you all….

Does anyone know where I can buy some quality faux Bittersweet?

I can’t have real Bittersweet because I have inside pets.

I believe I read somewhere that they are poison, correct?

So, if you know of a website or a store that sell quality faux Bittersweet please let me know.  Thanks!

Now back to the decorating I have been working on.

Warning this is a picture filled post!

Here are some photos are what I have so far….

I strung some of my sunflowers across the front of my, breakfast nook, fireplace.

I actually had a good turn out of them, in my garden, this year.

I love how the coloring of these few photos turned out.

So neat looking!

This next one is my favorite.

Kind of boring in the regular lighting, huh!

In my Dining Room, I took the lid off my my dough box and filled it with a mixture of real gourds, faux pumpkins and corn, and of course, more of my sunflowers.

Here are few more things from the dining room….

Some of my pumpkins I got from a swap with Lorna.

I love the way this next photo turned out…

And the Living Room….

This is a new sign I purchased, the other day, at the Rabbit Patch.

Remember my little pumpkin I got from a swap with Marie (OLM).

And the wonderful pin keep I won from Kerri (The Calico Rabbit).

A wonderful hand painted pumpkin from my dear friend, Dawn.

I know, I still need to put my geraniums from Jo-Ann’s away for the season….

Soon, I promise. :)

I’m going to try to find some fake mums to replace them with.

Some pictures of my Kitchen….

I liked how this little punkin fit into this butter crock.

Kind of looks like a lid, don’t ya think?  :)

This last photo is from my half bath….

another on of Dawn’s pumpkins.

And that is what I have done so far.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a quick tour.

Until next time…

Take Care Everyone,

Hey Tammy! I just love all your fall touches!! Your sunflowers are the best! I love how you strung them on your fireplace!
I got a really cool bittersweet vine from Winter Willow Primitives. I love the muted colors and twigginess of it. Hope that helps!

Beautiful home! I found 3 pds of bittersweet on ebay for 19.99 and they state they are safe for children and pets.
PS I LOVEEEEEE the dough box on your table, is it old or reproduction?

Thanks so much everyone.
And thanks for the tips on the Bittersweet!! You all are the Best!

Nancy, the dough box is an antique.
I purchased it off of eBay years ago. It has its original finish are dough board lid. It is one of my most prized items. ;)

I got some wonderful faux bittersweet vines from A Simpler Thyme last year. She doesn't have it online (, but you can call Judy to order it. You won't be disappointed.
