Yard Sales And Junkin’ Goodies!

Happy Monday Everyone!!

Well, this weekend I actually went to a couple of Yard Sales.  This Summer I have been so busy, Mom and I haven’t hit hardly any Yard Sales.  But this Saturday a couple of my neighbors were having them so I stopped by.

Here is what I got from them.

At the 1st sale, I picked up this wonderful old sanding Santa with celluloid face.

I don’t have any like him.

At the same sale, I picked up this vintage sweater clasp on its original card.  Guessing I would say this is from the late 50’s to early 60’s.

I am going to list this on my website.

At the next sale I found quite a bit of goodies.

I got….

This wonderful old quilt scrap.

Love the colors in this!!

A couple vintage home made pot holders, also for my website.

A sheep pan for making some pantry cakes.

I was thrilled to see this there!

A couple of old bundt cake pans.

I will be listing these cake pans soon on my website.

A pair of wonderful tin and porcelain candle sticks.

These looks a lot like pewter but I don’t believe they are.

I think they are tin or some type of metal.

These are old but I am unsure about the exact date of them.

They have the same design on both sides on candle sticks.  I also need to take some better photos before listing them on my website.  If anyone has any information on these, I would love to know more about them.

And lastly from the same yard sale I got this lot of textiles.

A vintage sampler.

Some feed sack fabric.

Some vintage red and blue seersucker fabric.

Plain feed sack bag fabric.

And a large lot of vintage linen fabric.

I need to find more yard sales like this one!!

And this was on Saturday, the 2nd day for it, I can’t imagine what I could've found if I would have noticed it on Friday!!

On my way home from a e-run on Saturday I passed by a yard sale and the reflection from an old mirror caught my eye.

Well, needless to say….

I threw on my brakes and thanked God that I remembered to stick that cash in my pocket before heading out. :)

Here is the mirror, that had to come home with me….

It is a heavy lead glass mirror.

But luckily the mirror is in really good condition, hardly any wear to the reflection.

I am trying to find a place for it, but if I can’t I will be listing it on my website.

I also purchased for my website this vintage old percolator.

It doesn't have the cord but it is in really good condition.

And I have never seen one with this design.

The design is of “The Homestead In Winter” by Currier & Ives”.

This is soooo pretty.

Don’t you just love it!! :)

Yesterday, while making an  e-run, I stopped by “The Rusty Nail” an antiques and crafts shop in Salem, IL.

I really liked this shop!!

They had wonderful antiques and fabulous hand made primitives.

Oh yes!! I will be back!! ;)

Here is what I purchased from them.

An old, home made, wooden box with old worn paint.

The paint is a whitish-gray color.

And I got this old lantern.

Check this out!!

The front lifts upward.

I am not sure if this was suppose to have a glass front, but it doesn't have any now.

Did you notice the finger loop handle for carrying it!!

And look at this…

The bottom of it opens up also.

How cool is that!! ;)

I haven't decided yet if I am going to keep this or sell it.

I guess it all depends on whether or not I can find a spot for it.

And that is all my new finds.

Over all not a bad haul for one weekend!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit.

Until Next Time….

Take Care Everyone!!

Hi Tammy

You got a lot of nice goodies! Love the sheep mold-I have one like it and it is an older one made of the real darker heavy metal. Also love that old box from "The Rust Nail" that looks to be a great place to shop. The colors in that quilt scap are awesome!!!

Junkin can be so much fun especially when the deals are unbelievable.

Glad you got out and had some fun!
