A Long Winded Post! ~Goodies & More

Hi Everyone!!

Oh, my goodness, I have had a wild stressful exhausting last couple of weeks.

To sit and name everything out would be really boring.

And who knows, maybe it isn't the situations that have been exhausting, maybe its just me. ;)

I always feel run down during the winter.  And yes, suffer from the occasional winter blues.

I think it is the lack of sun shine.  All these cloudy, cold days have me at wits end.

And sometimes I do feel like I am being pulled a zillion different directions all at once.

Do this… Get that… Bring this and that… Hey Mom… Hey Hun… Hey come here…Can you… Will you…. (I think you get the picture.)

I love them all dearly but there is only so much of me to go around!!!

And yes, sometimes I do feel that no matter what I do, it isn't enough or it isn't right.

How does that old song go…

“You can’t please everyone, so you better please yourself”

(or something like that.)

Yeah, right! My guilt would drive me nuts if I tried that.

Yes, I did say guilt.

Now, come on, I cant be only one who feels guilty for not being that perfect Mom or Wife.

Even though I know there is no such thing.  Every time I fall short, I feel guilty.

Now some of you may be reading this thinking…

Oh my, poor thing, she sounds so stressed and depressed.

LOL!! Don't worry.  I'm okay.

Stressed, yes at times, I can admit that.

Depressed, No, I'm really not.

I'm just venting a bit.

And letting my neurotic side show. LOL!!

Oh, and to top it off.

Kortney (my youngest) got her license last week.

She got to drive during that day and then the snow set in and between it and school she hasn't drove since.

And she has never drove alone at night, until tonight!!

Her and Nat are heading over to the mall and out to eat.

Yes, I'm climbing the walls a bit.

I know she will be fine.  But I will be glad when time passes and her driving becomes no big deal.

You would think the fact that she is my 3rd would make it easier.  But it really doesn't.

I think it is bothering me more with her, than it did with the other 2.  Or maybe I have just forgotten.

Okay, I think I have embarrassed myself enough.

I wont force you to listen to any more of my craziness in this post. LOL!!

On to better things!!

First off, I am thrilled with the response to my burlap bears!!

You all are the very best.

I have gotten so many emails and comments about them.

And so many requests for more!!!

I have been sewing away, trying to get some finished.

I did finish one, but it was a request from one of my prim pals who wanted one for a special occasion coming up.

So, I did make hers first. (Since she was the 1st to ask and there was a deadline for the date she needed it.)

I wont mention who it was, because it may be surprise and I don't want to ruin it.

But I will show off a few pictures of her bear.

*He will be heading to his new home tomorrow.

Meet Rob….

I believe the next one is going to be a girl bear.  I have made so many boys, time to mix it up some.

I will let you all know when she is finished.

And I will be sure to show her off before listing her for sale.

I was also able to finish up my 2 swap packages today.

Now I can mark them off the list of Need-To-Do list.

I love doing swaps but I always worry, will they like it??

Did I send enough??? Did I send the right kind of stuff??

Yes, my neurosis is showing again!!  :)

Well, ladies I hope you enjoy your goody packages.

I had a lot of fun making them up for you.

Remember me telling you about all the goodies I have gotten on the Facebook Yard Sales sites.

Well, some of them have came in.

And I was able to get some pictures taken.  I do still have a box of quilts and fabrics to show off, but it will have to wait until next post.

Here are some of my goodies though.

I love this basket I got…

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I don't know if it is old or a reproduction but either way, I love it.

The berries and early coverlet pieces are also new purchases.

Here are some more of the coverlet slices I have purchased.

Don’t you just love it when God whispers in your ear, because he has a little surprise in store for you.

That is what happened to me today.

When I finished up some deliveries and was heading home, the thought that I needed to stop into this one antique store entered my mind.

And yes, I have done that before, but today, out of all of the ones I could have went to….

something told me to stop at this one.

So I did.

I wasn't really planning on finding anything.

A lot of times I don't.  And when I do their prices are sky high.

Well, not today!!!

I was looking in a booth and stuck back in a cupboard something caught my eye.

Oh, Wow!!

An old, handmade, cloth doll in her original clothes.

Yeah, I can just imagine the price on her!!

Well, my mouth feel open when I say her tag!!

WHAT!!?  I looked again.  Yes, that was what it said.  And to top it off, the booth had a 25% percent off sale going on, so I got her for even cheaper than that!~!

Oh, Yes, this was divine intervention.

God knew I needed something to pick my spirits up, so he put me on the path to this baby.

And no, I am not joking!! I honestly believe that.

God does little things like this for us all the time.

You just have to open your eyes and your heart and let yourself see it!

And yes, as soon as I got out to the car, I praised God. Thanking him for the little treasure he found for me.

And here she is…

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Her bonnet is made out of true antique blue homespun.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Her dress is made out of wonderful early blue calico.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Her body is cloth and she is stuffed with cotton.

Yes, she is a little dusty and dirty.

And she does have a few holes here and there.

Her painted eyes and mouth are worn away some.

But I don't care, to me she is Perfect!!!

I also found this today….

I know Christmas is over but it was just too darn cute to pass up!

Well, everyone, I hope you enjoyed this roller coaster of emotions post!!   ~LOL!!

I promise I’ll be more sane next time!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me.

Until Next Time….

Take Care Everyone!!

Hey Tammy....Winter is a tough season to get through! I get the same way and I'm sure plenty others do too. That sun produces Vitamin D which we all need. I think that's what someone told me!!
You never stop worrying about your kids.
Love all your finds, especially the coverlet pieces and what a great deal on that adorable doll!!

Hi Tammy-love your posts but I don't always get on here like I would like. Just wanted to let you know that love your bears-very talented. I feel the same way too during the in the Midwest there needs to be just a little more sunshine. I am with you on the driving thing.....My oldest son just started driving this past year and he takes post secondary classes which are over an hour away and leaves early in the AM. He drives pretty good but I think I may just be getting a few more gray hairs.

Love all the little brooms and the old dollie!!!

Thank you, Tammy, for sharing your ups AND downs! It makes me feel more normal. :) Constantly feeling guilty or like I haven't done it right or done enough is something that plagues me, too.
I love all your treasures that you found. That old doll is amazing!

You could have written this post about me these past few weeks!!! Why are we so hard on ourselves? I'll never understand it. I get the winter time blues every year and it nearly drives me crazy! My vit D levels are horribly low so that just zaps all the energy out of my body which definitely doesn't help matters any. I will be so glad when warmer weather gets here!

Love your treasures! That little doll is precious!

Hope you are feeling better soon!
