What Do You Do When Your Internet Is Down? :)

Shop and Create, of course.

Well, that and clean! ;)

Hi Everyone!!

I sure have had a crazy past week!

My internet went down Friday morning and it didn't come back up until Monday afternoon.

Yes, I was going Nuts!!

And it couldn't have happened at a worst time.

I needed to get online and get my swap list made, plus I had sold some things and needed to get them ready to ship.

All I can say is….

Thank you Hubby for buying me an IPhone for our anniversary. LOL!!

It was too difficult to take care of everything that needed done, but I could at least check my emails.

It really is crazy how much I have grown to depend on this silly computer!!

I felt like a part of me was missing. LOL!!

Seeing that I couldn't spend my regular hours here online, I had to find a way to occupy my time.

So I worked on putting my Christmas decorations away.

Dusted, swept, did laundry…. you know, all that really Fun Stuff!! ;)

Then I took my gift certificate from my Mom for Christmas down to the Rabbit Patch and bought some things.

Here is what I bought.

I got this sampler.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I have it hung in my living room.

(sorry for the blurry photo)

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I got this wonderful old box that has been painted the prettiest shade of green.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I have started stacking them in my breakfast room because I have run out of room in my living room stacks.

I know size wise the green one should really be in the middle.  It is very slightly larger than the white one.  But I just love the green, so I wanted it on top. ;)

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I got some new ornies on sale for half price.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I love these little tiny glass ones.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I also bought another old chair.

I have an addiction for buying old chairs.

Especially ones with weaved seats, like this one.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I made the seat cushion and stuffed it with rags, it has a wonderful lumpy old look and feel to it in person (hard to tell in photo).

I also hung a piece of matching fabric on the back, attaching it in the corners with hemp cord.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Please ignore the ugly carpet on the stairs, we are going to be replacing it with wood this Spring. ;)

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I also found time do some creating.

I made these adorable ornies!!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

My hubby said I was Nuts!!

Because I was making these right after Christmas ended.

I can’t help it, I was in the mood.

I guess because there is no pressure to getting them done.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I made some small chenille pipe cleaner candy canes.  Grubbied up and accented with mica snow.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

My favorite thing I created this past weekend is Elam!

I was going to name him Eli, but I was watching the Steelers game Sunday and one of the players for the Browns had the last name of Elam.  I decided I like that better. ;)

He is my primitive, antique style Teddy Bear.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I used to make teddy bears all the time.

But I admit it, it has been over 2 years since I made one.

I really enjoyed it, I think I'm going to make some more.

Elam measures a little over 23” tall.

I used two different colors and textures of fur.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

He is made to look old, worn, well loved, and primitively repaired.

His arms and legs are string jointed.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

His head is not jointed.

I stuffed him with a mixture of things, make do stuffing is what I call it.

Some parts are stuffed with rags and cotton.

Other parts are stuffed with rags and Spanish Moss.

Yes, I use Spanish Moss sometimes for stuffing my bears.

It gives it weight and crunchy feel of straw.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

He has a slight hump back.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

He comes dressed in a vintage, old, hand made baby jacket.

I loved the way it looks on him.

Elam is a one of a kind teddy bear and I am going to be listing him either on my website or Esty as soon as I can find the time.

Before I sign off I want to mention one thing to the ladies that are taking part in my swap.

I have emailed out all the swap partners.

Please, if you haven't done so already, as soon as you get the time, reply back and let me know you have received it.

Also if you didn't get your partner email, please let me know so I can resend it.

I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone gets.

And I also want to say to the few people who weren't able to get into the swap this time, I hope you continue to visit my blog and decide to join in on my next one.

I am considering hosting another one some time in the Spring.

I guess I should've kept the sign up open longer.

But to be honest, this was my 1st blog swap and I was getting a little confused.

~*~ I don’t know how you do it, Char!! ~*~  LOL!

I was afraid I was going to mess up on something, so I closed the entry’s.

Plus dealing with the no internet situation didn't help either!! :)

I hope to be more organized next time and hopefully handle things a little better.

I do apologize.

My 2 year blog anniversary is in 16 days.

I am wanting to have a giveaway to celebrate the milestone.

But it may be a little late getting posted.

I am currently working on 2 swap goody packages.  The one for my swap and the one I am taking part in at Char's blog.

I will be having one though.

I'm just not sure I’ll have it up before the anniversary date.

That’s about it for me right now.

Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me!!

Until Next Time….

Take Care and Prim Filled Blessing To You All.

As i enjoyed your catch up bloog today it made me smile as i thought of the panice I go into when the Puter is down..but onc accepted i find myself doing exactly what you on something for myself. Of course I always tell myself I should just turn off the puter for 24 hours once a week to allow self down time..but I never do...
I also smiled at your Bear.. you have no idea I used to have 100's of Bears and I miss them so but no longer have anyplace to display them so gave them all away got maybe 10. I have discovered one thing about bloggin that is not good for me....that is wanting all the Bears everyone makes..

Holy guacamole! I think I need my internet to go down! You got so much done! I love Elam. :) And those little ornie stockings are awesome! And I'm glad I'm not the only one who is still feeling like doing a little Christmas/winter creating. I think you are right about the no pressure thing. It's more enjoyable that way sometimes. :)

Hi Tammy,
You have been a busy bee! LOL! OMG! I LOVE Elam! I have a "HUGE" thing for bears! He reminds me of one of the ones I have here, but I haven't attempted to make one yet.
Maybe I will join in on your next swap. I think it's great for those that do these, I would get confused too!
I hope you will have a good week.
Thank you for sharing, and I loved all your other goodies too!
I don't know, but my hubby got me this laptop for Christmas, it allows me to post here, our other computer wouldn't at all, so I am happy anyhow for that.

Gald to hear you are up and running full steam ahead again Tammy. How wonderful that you accomplished so much this past weekend. I need to get my butt in gear and do the same.

Fabulous goodies you bought yourself. I adore that green box. I am addicted to boxes both big and small. And that chair! Just fantastic! Another addiction of mine as well.

You did a great job on your bear. I love his jacket. It was made for him.

I think you did a marvelous job on hosting this swap. I look forward to joining your next one. I'm sure it isn't easy organizing them and I do agree with you that Char does a fabulous job on hosting hers!

Have a great day!

Losing your internet connection stinks.... I know. We have had dial up here up until mid-November and it seemed like every other month we were having problems. Only good thing about it was I did manage to get the house clean and some creating done.

I say go ahead an make those Christmas ornies. It just makes you that much more far ahead for next Christmas.

Hope your having a great week!

Wow Tam, you have been busy! Love the green box too and the glass santa ornies are to die for! Elam is just adorable. I love to make teddy bears too and never thought about using moss to stuff them. I might have to try that some time. And hey don't worry about not being able to extend an invite to get in on the swap. No matter how long you would have run the open enrollment someone would want to be in on it after the fact. Can't please them all. You did great!
Have a great weekend,
