Happy Sunday Afternoon Everyone!!
It is a Gorgeous day here in Southern IL. and I'm loving every minute of it.
The sun is shinning and the temps are in the 50’s.
I want to start this post with 1st thanking Lauren from Rugs and Pugs, for my wonderful hearts.
I won these three darling hearts awhile back at her blog.
I apologize for the delay in showing them off Lauren.
I love them, excellent job sweetheart!!
Thank you so very much!!!
Of course, everything you make is always Gorgeous.
I always Love your creations!!
I've been playing around with my bedroom decor the last few days.
I’ll be sure to show it off when I get it all finished.
But one thing I will share is, I want new bedding.
I've wanted it forever, I just need to spend the darn money and order what I want.
But I'm sure some of you know how it is, I nickel and dime it away, instead of just making that one purchase I truly want.
Oh well, income tax return money should be here anytime. :)
“Oh, sweetheart…. love of mine…. best Hubby in the world…. you know what would really make me happy… come look at this bedding.” Hehee!
Yes, I've been planning out my attack for weeks!! LOL!!
Since I don't have the bedding I truly want.
I went around my home trying to find something I could use instead.
And I found this one old quilt, which was backed with the most wonderful blue homespun fabric.
Hummm… Maybe that will work…
And I put that down.
Okay what else….
I went and got the coverlet from the top of my cabinet in the living room.
Now, the coverlet does have a good size hole in it, so I couldn't use it on the main portion of the bed.
So I folded it at the foot.
But still it needed something different for the pillow area.
I attempted to make a long bolster pillow.
It needed to be slightly longer, I wanted it to hang down over the sides of the bed.
So more tweaking will need to be done to that, to give it the true look I want.
But for right this second, it will do.
I tossed a couple of old quilt pillows in the center, because it still needed something else.
And there it is….
A different look for my bed, Until I can get the actual bedding I have picked out.
Okay, now that I told you what all I did, here are some Before and After photos.
This is what my bed looked like
And here is the
What do you think??
Yes or No.
What else does it need??
I think the bolster pillow, needs to be longer, of course. It also needs to be aged some.
Give it that good grubby, old, appearance.
I had to leave the original quilt down, because the antique homespun quilt, isn't long enough on the sides.
Does that look bad??
To be honest…. I’m not Loving the new look.
But I was not loving the old one either.
I've just grown tired of the other quilt and I am wanting more of a primitive, colonial, look in here.
Now give me your honest opinion….
Leave it this way, until I get my new bedding.
No, put it back the way it was.
Which one do you think. ???
Also incase you missed in my previous post….
I also wanted to share with you something I am going to be doing.
I was visiting Amy's blog the other day and read her post about Random Acts Of Kindness (RAK’s).
What she is doing is having her blogging friends email her their address, so that she may send them a little something from time to time.
Whether it is a card, or a little gift or just something to lift their spirits and let them know someone is thinking of them.
I contacted Amy and asked if it was okay for me to join in on her idea.
She so graciously said yes.
So, that is what I am going to do.
I would like to ask any of my blogging friends, who would like to join in, please email me your name and address.
Be sure to include your blog URL with your information.
I will randomly chose a name from this list and send out “you are special to me” surprises.
Now, I know, I will never get through all the names.
I know, I will never be able to send everyone something, even though I would love to.
But this just gives me a way to send out surprises when I think you need a little pick me up or you just happen to be on my mind.
Please know, I will Never share your information with anyone!!
Never Ever, this I promise!!!
Simply click on the link located on my sidebar that says, “Email Me”.
If anyone else chooses to join in on this or is currently participating in RAK’s, you are welcome to use the blog button located above.
Heading off to go take Lucy for a walk and then, hopefully, get myself motivated to finish some of my 1/2 done projects.
Until Next Time….
