Well, it was over 36 hours without power.
We had a severe storm move through Southern Illinois Tuesday evening.
I was right in the middle of washing and drying clothes.
Then poof... Out went the power.
Luckily, no major damage to us.
It did blow off some of our trim siding, but that is it.
I guess that is one of the advantages of not having any large trees.
The last report I heard was over 40,000 without power in our surrounding area.
Our power came back on around 11am this morning.
Down the street from our house there are 8 huge power poles down.
We do have a generator so luckily we were able to keep our sump pump going and have hot water. Not to mention keeping our refrigerator and tv up and going.
But that costs us a fortune in gas keeping it going.
$60 Tuesday and over $70 yesterday.
All reports say another storm will be coming through tomorrow.
I hope it won't be as severe as they are predicting.

I have swaps I need to finish up.
And I received a sweet "just because" gift from my friend Tricia.
I had taken photos of it and planed on showing it off until the storm moved in.
Then today when I got home from work my win from Misi was waiting for me.
A little while back I was lucky enough to win some of Misi's amazing wax fruit.
OMGosh They are amazing.
I promise pictures will be coming soon.
I'm trying to get caught up on some things, then I will be making a post to show off my new treasures.

We have been staining and getting ready for the stairs.
Oh the wood looks so pretty!
I can't wait to see them up and finished.
This is going to set off the foyer.
I have taken before photos, even some during. I will take some after it is finished and show them off to everyone.

Hubby has his new office painted.
He has been working on moving his furniture out of his old one into the new one.
We still need to get the new flooring down.
It's not ready to be shown off yet, but as soon as it is I will be sure to.
I am ready to get my new sewing done.
I'm not sure if I am going to knock down the wall quite yet.
Im unsure, I am going to see how crowded it is before deciding.

I'm just ready to get my house and my life back to some type of normal.
Until then,
Take care everyone!

Tammy, so glad you all are okay. And you didn't have much damage. Being without power makes us realize just how much we depend on and take for granted certain everyday things, huh? These storms have been violent this Spring. I think worse than normal. We have had rough ones here in Ga too. And I am terrified of them. That's why I could handle winter all year long. Sounds like you have lots going on. Take time for yourself and to smell the roses, girl. Have a great Easter weekend.

Good to hear that you are safe and sound Tammy! Hopefully the storms coming in won't do anymore damage! The weather has just been crazy all over this Spring. We are still really cold here, not really cold, but cold enough for me....I want hot!!
Hope you taking care of yourself girl!! I'm missing your liveliness that seems to be missing from your posts, or it could just be me.
Hugs and love ya!

Glad you're safe and sound ~ and hope that continues. We only had one brief day of spring-like weather a few weeks back and it brought devastating tornadoes - we were without power for over 18 hours and that was long enough for me. Just thankful that we were spared the damage, but sad others weren't. Take good care - catch your breath, and have a wonderful Easter. Smile & Hugs ~ Robin

Hi Tam, Glad the power is back on. I can't wait to see your beautiful stairs put in and your new flooring. I can tell you are excited and I am excited for you. I am so happy to read that you took a before and during pictures and then I can't wait to see the after, I know when any construction is being done in your home your feel your home is upside down BUT SO worth it. When you see the final project done you are going to be thrilled!!

Have a Good Friday and I hope you and your family have a Happy Easter!

Hugs, Tricia
