Oh, what a LONG ten days it has been.
Without my internet, It has been like a part of me is missing. :(
And I have so hated not knowing what all has been going on with all of you.
I have tried to check in with my phone, but I don't get a signal in the house. So the time I could actually pull it up has been quite lacking.
But now I'm Back!! Yippee!!
I have so many emails to get caught up on. So, if you have sent me one within the last ten days and haven't heard back from me, let me apologize.
I will be trying to get back with everyone as soon as I can.
Things have been so hectic around here lately, I guess it has been a sort of good thing that the internet has been down.
One less thing to occupy my time.
My daughter finally finished up this school year.
These last couple of months seemed to DRAG ON and ON!!
Thank God it is time for a break.
My son is trying to get enrolled in summer classes at the local college. But so many darn hoops to jump through to claim his grant money.
And of course, I haven't been able to find all the needed paper work.
Not to mention it seems that everyone is on Summer hours so when I've had time, they are Closed!
Why do businesses have summer hours??
Makes no sense to me.
Oh, well… I guess I’m babbling a bit.
Just tying to fill everyone in on what all I have been dealing with the past 10 days.
I did have my yard sale last Saturday and it went over okay I guess.
Not as much traffic as I would have liked, but I think it was because it was Memorial Day weekend and people had plans.
We took our annual trip to the Gypsy Caravan in St. Louis and I got a few new goodies.
I will be showing them off in my next post.
Here are some random photos of the caravan.
My oldest niece and my youngest daughter.
This is my niece that will been graduating from HS Saturday.
So back up to St. Louis we will go to celebrate with her.
My sister checking out one of the booths, I'm sure she will be thrilled I posted a photo of her. :) LOL! (yes, that is sarcasm)
Just a random shot of the crowd.
It was Crazy! Busiest I've ever seen it.
Plus Brett and I were able to get away for a short shopping trip the week before. Photos of those goodies will also be shown shortly.
But at the Olde Time Pottery Shop, I did see these neatest lamp shades.
No, I didn't buy one, but I thought they were so cool!!
These were made of light weight cotton fabric.
The top one is my favorite.
The bottom one reminds me a silly hat. ;)
We have gotten some of the construction done on the stairs.
But the lumber yard sent the wrong size bottom steps and we had to reorder.
These wont be in till the middle of June.
They are looking really good so far.
I'm so excited to show off the before and after photos but I'm making myself hold off until the are completely finished.
But I do have one thing I can show you.
I recently order new curtains for my bedroom and repainted the walls.
The curtains are just like the ones in my living room.
I wanted to do this so the front windows matched.
Here are some B4 and After shots for you…
Now on the B4 pictures, there are older shots than others.
I cant find some of the newer ones.
So you notice different bedding and displays depending on when they were taken.
But all of them give you an idea of the difference in the wall color.
(Above) I'm not loving the peg display. I think the doll is too much. It looks a little crowded. I think I may have to do some tweaking with this area. Because the top of the dresser may have too much on it also.
(Above) I have added another old child's dress to this display since picture was taken. One of my finds on me and Brett’s shopping trip.
(Above) I got me another big flag on pole at the gypsy caravan. I will have to get another picture of it added to the collection.
(Above) I hate that the cords are showing!!
I have to think of something to hide these.
And now here are just some random AFTER photos.
Planning on adding a brown woven blanket to the bed to coordinate the long pillow.
Found this case at the Rusty Nail in Salem, IL.
They only had this one left.
I wanted one with a blue stripe, but I think I can pull it all together by adding a brown stripe cover to the bedding.
I must admit, I do still like the dark brown walls.
But with the new black checked curtains and all the other black in the room, it was too dark.
Now with the lighter walls, all the black accents really Pop.
Also awhile back I told you all that I hung my primitive candle holder from Tricia, here is a photo of it.
I finally got my curtains ironed and put back in place.
Thanks Mom!! LOL!! I would still be waiting to get around to it.
Also I apologize for the quality of the photograph.
Had to use my IPhone.
Thank you again, Tricia, for all my wonderful goodies.
