Earlier today I was visiting one of my favorite blogs.
Dawn of, The Feathered Nest had written a post about a couple of wonderful pin keeps and this Amazing tiny shoe she had just created out of dried magnolia petals.
Yes, you heard me right, dried magnolia petals.
Well, it was so amazing she inspired me to create a pin keep for myself.
And since I don't have any dried magnolia petals sitting around. (Oh heck, who am I kidding…. even if I did I'm not as talented as her.)
But I did have an old single baby shoe.
I actually bought two singles awhile back and had them put up till I was in the mood to do something with them.
Well, thanks to Dawn, I was in the mood. :)
So here is the little pin keep I whipped up this morning.
No glue was used, I hand sewn the topper to the top edge of the shoe. Also the shoe portion is stuffed.

I also used true early blue calico fabric for the topper.
Isn’t it cute!

I have this in my living room, on a shelf above some other primitive pin keeps.
They are in the basket below the cubby.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

PS. Kelsey made it to CA this morning.
I’ll give you more of an update when I actually get to talk to her.
She just texted me letting me know.

Adorable little pinkeep Tam! I adore old baby shoes, so this is right up my ally (but, for me to make one, I'd have to make sure there wasn't a pair - would hate to break up a pair!) Looks great as you've displayed it. (Loved Dawn's little fairy slipper...oh my heck!) Glad your daughter arrived safely! Have a wonderful weekend! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

I made a bunch of those a couple years ago and had a giveaway for them. They are fun to make and look adorable on the sewing table.
I really like yours, made from a vintage shoe---very nice! Now I'll be looking for single shoes again!
Have an awesome Sunday!

So great Tammy! Love the way you have it displayed with your other pinkeeps. I have a set of shoes and one is badly damaged, think I know what to do with it now! Glad you heard from Kelsey, anxious for updates. Just went to dawn's blog...wow, what a gifted artist. Going back to check all her free tutorials, thanks for the lead.
