Good evening everyone!
Is it just me or does this Summer seem to be flying by!!!
Last winter I had all of the plans…
Going to finish this, start on that, going to spend every moment I could outside, wasn't going to complain about the heat one time!!
It sure isn't turning out that way.
All the projects I had planned on doing, still not finished.
I have accomplished to start more, though.
Notice I said “start”, because none of them have been finished either.
And the whole, “not going to complain about the heat”…
Okay, that was just stupid to say!!
Because when it is 100 degrees outside with a heat index of 115, you have to complain!!
(Thank God, I still had cell service!)
Trust me I was doing more than complaining about the heat on that day!! LOL!!
I was out on a run, an hour and a half away from home, had to call Brett to come get me and then sit and wait.
So now I have to deliver in my daughters car, and its air conditioner went out awhile back. By the time I get back home I look like I jumped into a pool of water. Heehee!
I want to say thank you to the followers who have emailed and commented asking about Kelsey.
She is doing good.
They found a nice house to rent.
She was home sick for awhile. I think most of it was because all she had to do was sit around the house.
But a couple of days ago she found a job and it sounds like something she will enjoy.
Now I look for things to be easier for her.
Getting busy with work and with the college semester starting, she isn't going to have time to be home sick or bored.
I do miss her like CrAzY!!
And hoping she will be able to get off work to come home for Christmas.
I can’t stand the idea of her not being here for that!~
*Not going to worry about that today, though.
One day at a time!~
As I talked about in my previous post.
I have been working away on my new sewing room lately.
I feel like a kid with a new toy!! LOL!!
It still isn't finished.
(Not sure ever will be though!)
But here are some updated photos.
~Don’t forget to try to ignore the ugly glue covered concrete floors.
No new flooring yet.
And no I still haven't finished painting those darn walls!
Who has time for the boring stuff…right now I'm just enjoying playing.
No more ugly plastic shelves!!
Found this white bookcase at Target yesterday on clearance.
See that small cabinet with doors?
That is my GW find from the other day.
Here is what it looked like when I bought it…
I didn't like the color, so I sanded and painted it white.
I got this mug rack at GW too.
I painted it white and am using it to hang some of my vintage baby clothes.
A few more GW finds.
This little shelf…
Here is a closer shot of the display.
The photo is of me and my sister. (I'm the little one!)
Some antique post cards of my home town and my church.
A spare antique baby shoe.
I stuffed the inside with fabric then sat a little tea light inside on top.
Got this shelf too.
But it was brown. Nope that wouldn't do… so I changed it to a matching white!
Perfect for holding some of my jars of buttons.
Cute Sheep Crock, yes that had to come home with me!
A wonderful basket to hold some of my old red ticking!
I got a couple of more things at GW that day, but they aren't for my sewing room. And I haven't gotten around to taking their pictures yet.
My room smell so wonderful right now.
I have two tart burners going.
One is hidden behind some photos on a book shelf, but this one looks adorable on my GW cabinet.
I'm sure a lot of you you are like me and have bunches of tarts stored around.
Well, I used to keep them in drawers and crocks, but while decorating the other day I came up with this idea.
I love it!
Now they all are in one place and lookin’ pretty!
The jar came from Wal-Mart, I painted the lid.
In the bottom of the jar is brown shredded paper.
The shredded paper is actually what Char's tarts came in when we did a swap awhile back. I thought it looked so great I placed it in the bottom of the jar.
I added a shelf above my sewing machine.
I have a collection of Precious Moments, but they have been stored in a cabinet for quite a few years.
Lets face it, pastels don't mix too well with Prim/Colonial.
But now I have a place I can display them.
I have started with a few of my favorites.
The Bride and Groom was a gift from some of my friends for my wedding years and years and years ago!
I still treasure it.
The rest of them were bought for me from my Hubs, Brett.
I'm thinking about putting a long shelf up across the top of the wall for displaying the rest of them.
We have 11 foot ceilings in our basement, so lots of space to fill in here. :)
Okay, I know, I'm going a little NuTs with the photos of this room. But just a few more random ones to wrap it up.
(Above) Still waiting on my white cabinets to replace these. ;)
I know, I need to paint my TV cabinet white too.
Come over and tell my Hubby that, please!! LOL!
Don’t miss out on my giveaway going on right now to win the flag pillow shown above.
