The Story Of My Blessed Lamp + Some Other Goodies!

Hi Everyone!

Yes, this Summer is taking it toll on me!

Every day I have all these plans….

Going to finish this, start on that…

Tick Tock Goes the Clock!

And I have no idea where the day went.

I feel like I'm super busy all day long, but nothing to show for it.

I'm blaming it on the fact that I never have any time alone.

Yes, that must be it!!!

It can’t be my fault!!

LOL!!

It has to be the fact that the kids are home…. hubby’s home…. I have to work…

Yes, that has to be it, Right?!

Heehee!

Oh well, there is always tomorrow!! :)

Any who…

I wanted to share something so special that happened to me the other day.

See this lamp…

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

A couple of weeks ago I saw this adorable lamp at Golden Goodies Antique Mall in Carterville, IL.

I can admit it…

It was right before pay day and I was broke!

So, I had to leave it behind.

But Friday (pay day) I decided to head back over there, see if my lamp was there and hopefully find some other goodies.

As I was checking out, handing over my items, the last thing I gave to her (the owner, sorry I don't know her name) was my basket lamp.

She paused and looked at me and said…

“I’m going to bless you with this today.”

I thought for a split second… What? Is she serious?

But I could tell by the expression on her face she was.

So I of course said, “Thank You. That is so nice of you. Thank you so much!”

She started pulling the white tags from the items, then she stopped looked at me and said…

“I don’t do this often with my customers, but God is speaking to me very strongly right now.  And when this happens I try to listen.  He wants me to say, You are special to him.”

(I'm standing there speechless for a second.)

The tears start to roll down my cheeks.

(Yes, I cry whenever I get emotional.)

I thanked her repeatedly and sharing with her that I had been going through some things lately and honestly felt like I was being ignored. I felt alone.

She told me, “You are not alone. That is why he was speaking to me so strongly. He wants you to know you Are Special to Him.”

We chatted a while longer.  And I thanked her again.  I also let her know that God truly did speak through her today, because I really needed to hear those words.

And even though nothing had physically changed in my life from the time I entered her shop to the time I left,

I was different.

The heaviness in my chest was gone.  All the worries that had been swirling in my head over the past couple of days had disappeared.  I was touched by the hand of God inside her shop that day.

I may not be able to physically prove it to anyone, but it was something I Knew without any doubt.

I am trying harder to listen to Gods voice when he whispers to me.  Because I now see how simply being obedient and speaking out when he tells you to can change someone and help them more than one realizes.

She did not know me, did not know what I was feeling, she had no idea how I would react to the statement.

But she listened and obeyed when God called to her.  And because of this she helped me in more ways than I can express.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Now every time I look at my little lamp, I think of her and the kindness she gave to me on that day.

And I think about how God reached out to me through her, to give me that tiny miracle of reassurance that I am not alone.

So of course, I wanted to share this wonderful True story with all my blogging friends.

I will treasure my little Blessed lamp Always!

Tammy,
Honey, you are special to the Lord! Sometimes we think he isn't listening, but he is, sometimes it's just a season we have to endure. We really need to put our full trust in him always, not always easy to do because we are in fact, human! LOL!
Thankfully, he spoke through someone else with a message you needed to hear! Love the lamp by the way and the whisk brooms too!
Hugs,
Renee

I believe. I have seen this happen in my own life. I believe. God gives us what we need, even before we know we need it. It wasn't just a lamp, but the touching words and spiritual reassurance that you needed. Love these stories. God is good. Now everytime you look at that lamp you will remember.

This is going to sound a bit corny, but the lamp brightened not only your day, but every time you look at it ;- )
Tammy I often had days where it seems to have flown by & achieved nothing. To solve my problem, I write a list, everyday at breakfast I write a list of chores for the day. I find I get so much done & am pleased each time i cross something off the list. What ever doesn't get done wel....... it goes onthe list for the nexy day

That is a truly beautiful story. We all need that reassurance sometimes. I just saw somewhere "You can't worry and trust at the same time." I struggle with that concept. Your story made my heart skip a beat. Thanks so much for sharing it.
I love all the treasures you found. I will have to skip on over to your etsy to poke around at the rest. :)
I hope you have a week full of blessings!

I am so glad that I left off blog reading where I did last night and that yours was the first I read this morning - what an incredibly uplifting way to start my day. It made me tear up...What a beautiful thing to have happen. And I don't think it's a coincidence that it was a lamp that was involved - just another reminder from above that we need to let our lights shine - and his love shine through us. What an incredible blessing indeed. And, of course, you know I'm loving your whisk brooms...I'm so jealous - I have such a paltry collection....For some reason, they are hard to find in these parts. Thanks for sharing that "story" - have a wonderful and blessed week. Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Tammy, I was just talking to my husband today about God hearing me (my daughter Ashley went to the hospital last Monday) because she's home today and for all the prayers that seem to be answered, and he so sadly said that God doesn't seem to answer any of his prayers (he's almost crippled from disc injuries that just came on in the last few months) and for sure, I'm going to let him read your post when he wakes up from his nap. Thank you so much, again He lets someone (you) bring a message to someone (us)when they are in need.
Warmest Regards,

Tammy, your story is simply amazing. God is good all the time, even when we think we're alone, we are surely not! How awesome that He came right out to you through the shop lady. I am sure you will never forget that. :)

Tammy,
You are blessed and very special.
You are thoughtful and care about and share with people...how can He not think you are special.

You were meant to walk in that store broke the day before because it brought you back to hear her claim.

Your whisk brooms are wonderful...nice collection.

LOOOVE THE LAMP.

Hi I just happened in today. Your story touched me so deeply. It is amazing. I was looking at the picture of your lamp and you know that little kids song that went "This little light of mine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Well that is what you did for me. I will remember your story and I will tell my family tonight at dinner.
That is just such a sweet story and I will say a prayer for that wonderful lady who listened to God.
Thanks for sharing,
Kim
