Win Rin ~ Giveaway!

I have decided to give Rin to one of my blogging pals.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Rin is a primitive, handmade (by me), teddy bear.

He measures a little less than 12” tall.

He is made to look old, worn and well loved.

I used an actual old burlap sack for his body.
You can see the sack design on his body, legs, arms, and ears.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy
I think of this as a make-do bear.

Something a Mom might of done years ago if she couldn't afford to buy her child a teddy bear.

She "made-do" with what she had on hand and created it for them.

Now because this was made from an old burlap sack, the weave in the burlap isn't as tight as it is on my usual burlap bears.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy
He is stuffed with old cotton quilt batting and you can see it through the weave of the burlap.

His arms and legs are string jointed. Which give them ability to be moved and posed some.
His head is not jointed in any way.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

His eyes are made from old black buttons.

He has a hump back design, just like the old ones.

I chose not to dress Rin. I didn't want to cover his old burlap sack design.

No glue is ever used on my bears.
Everything is either machine or hand sewn.

Rin has been put through a grubby process to give him that worn prim appearance.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

If you want perfection, my bears are not for you.

But if you want a teddy bear that looks like he has been well loved over many years. Primitively mended and repaired just like Mom would have done. Then you will love my Prim Teddy Bears.

Because all of my bears have that wonderful old, worn, very well loved, appearance.

My original creation.

And Rin, like all of my bears, is a One Of A Kind creation.

Playin’ With My Bedroom Fireplace

Let me start off with saying, the quality of these photos are horrible!!

I haven't went and gotten the camera from my Mom yet.

These pictures were taken with my video camera, so they are a little dark and not very crisp.

But I’m making do right now. :)

I took down the shelf and Abe, cleared everything off and this is what I have for now.

I'm wanting to hang some drieds and other prim stuff from it.

Still a work in progress, but I think looking much better so far!!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

While I have here, I also want to show off a beautiful penny rug I received from Michelle.

She and I recently did a small swap and she made me a traditional penny rug. Which I have wanted forever!!

(Once again, I apologize for the quality of photos!)

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I have this displayed in my living room.
