Rin – Another New Prim Burlap Bear

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Rin is a primitive, handmade by me, teddy bear.
He measures a little less than 12” tall.

 A Primitive Place ~Tammy
He is made to look old, worn and well loved.
I used an actual old burlap sack for his body.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy
You can see the sack design on his body, legs, arms, and ears.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy
I think of this as a make-do bear.
Something a Mom might of done years ago if she couldn't afford to buy her child a teddy bear.
She "made-do" with what she had on hand and created it for them.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Now because this was made from an old burlap sack, the weave in the burlap isn't as tight as it is on my usual burlap bears.
He is stuffed with old cotton quilt batting and you can see it through the weave of the burlap.

His arms and legs are string jointed. Which give them ability to be moved and posed some.
His head is not jointed in any way.

His eyes are made from old black buttons.

He has a hump back design, just like the old ones.

I chose not to dress Rin.

I didn't want to cover his old burlap sack design.

No glue is ever used on my bears.
Everything is either machine or hand sewn.

Rin has been put through a grubby process to give him that worn prim appearance.

If you want perfection, my bears are not for you.

But if you want a teddy bear that looks like he has been well loved over many years.

Primitively mended and repaired just like Mom would have done.  Then you will love my Prim Teddy Bears.

Because all of my bears have that wonderful old, worn, very well loved, appearance.

My original creation.
And Rin, like all of my bears, is a One Of A Kind creation.

I just listed Rin in My Etsy Shop.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Tam Sweetie...
How absolutely precious, little Bear Rin is with his sack print showing. I love that most of all. Yes he does appear that he could have been sewn by a Mom with love back in the recession when things were recycled much more than today. Love his little dark stitches as well.

So precious is he. Thank you for sharing with me this evening. I have so enjoyed my visit. Country hugs sweetie, Sherry
