A Bunch Of Tweaking And Pict’s! :)

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

A bunch of tweaking going on here…
All because of a yard sale find!!
Last Friday, Mom and I went to an estate sale.
There really wasn't much, but we did happen to find two old tables.
Mine was a simple table with one small drawer.
At first, I didn't know what I was going to do with it.
After walking through the house thinking,
“Hummm, where can it go?”
I decided replace my mustard table with my new find.

I like the dark, old, finish of this table much better than the yellow.

As you can see, I moved my new penny rug over to this table.

I think it all looks so much better.
And cant beat the price…. $15.00
A Primitive Place ~Tammy
Well, you know how it goes…
Now I had to find a place for the yellow table. ;)
So, I decided to put it in place of the dough box and stand.

By this time I was in full  speed tweaking mode!! LOL!!
I went to work on my dining room.
I decided to remove my one bench I had as seating at my table.
Instead I added the two ladder back chairs from the breakfast nook.
And since I didn't want to repaint them, I tried mixing them up some.

The room actually feels a lot larger without the bench seating.

I changed the positions of the window bench and the crock stand.

See, there is where I moved the other dough box to.
I did some tweaking to my crock stand (or bucket bench).

I wanted to change the display in my tall cupboard.
I have never been happy with it.
I've really been drawn to white stoneware lately.
I got these two pieces for my birthday last month.
 A Primitive Place ~Tammy
I Love them!!
I have been wanting some stoneware molds forever!!
I was thrilled to find these at a good great price.
So any way…
My plan was to fill the dining room cupboard with white crocks and stoneware.
What was funny, at first I thought to myself,
“I don't have any white pieces though.”
So I walked around the house thinking what can I change out.
Then I would notice one piece of white.
“Oh, there’s a piece!”
And I would grab it and sit it on the dining room table.
Then I would notice another piece and another.
Isn’t it funny, how we don’t realize how much we have of something, until we actually stop and notice.
(Does that make sense? But I think you understand what I mean.)
I was able to gather enough together for my cupboard display.

Whew! I have really went nuts with the photos in this post, huh?!
I did some tweaking in my kitchen, breakfast nook and mud room too.
But those will have to wait until another post.

I would like to end this post with a question…
Brett and I would love some suggestions from my followers who travel.
You see, One year from November is our 25th wedding anniversary.
We are wanting to do something special.
We don't know much about traveling.
Well, other than our random junkin’ trips or our trips to Gatlinburg or Florida, we have never really gone anywhere.
We are wanting to go away and do something special.
*Sort of the Honeymoon we never had. :)
We are considering island hoping in Hawaii.
Or maybe an all inclusive resort in the Bahamas'.
Nothing is set in stone yet.  And we love suggestions!
So, if you have ever went somewhere that you LOVED and would recommend…
We would Love know.
Please feel free to email me your trip suggestions to:

*It doesn't have to be tropical.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Until Next Time…

Love everything you did, Tam!! The table is a great find for $15.00 -- isn't it funny how one change leads to 10 more....... that's how it always goes with me! Your DR is wonderful -- so cozy and inviting. Your cabinets with the white stoneware and redware are so nicely done -- you have such a nice decorating style.

For our 25th anniversary, we cruised from NY to Bermuda. We went with my brother and SIL, who were also celebrating their 25th. We had a fabulous time! Island hopping in Hawaii sounds SOOOO good.... if I could stand flying for longer than 2-2 1/2 hours at a time, I would definitely want to do that!

Happy Labor Day tomorrow!!

Okay, I am trying not to be in "tweaking envy". It looks so good. The mustard table makes that corner pop. Thanks for the eye candy.

LOVE your new little table....I've been looking for a smallish one like that that I can tuck in a corner. And all the changes that flowed from it are awesome as well....Your white stoneware is envy-inspiring....I love the little stoneware molds and have several - but no good place to really display them - they're sort of just jammed in with my chocolate molds for now. Have fun planning the trip - not much help here - other than Scottsdale, AZ, I haven't been too many places lately. We never had a honeymoon either and always wanted to go to Hawaii, but away from the crowds and tourists. I really did enjoy Montego Bay (Jamaica) when I was there - but that was years ago!! I think it's funny how one or two new items can make a huge transformation in the house. It's like a whole new home again. I love all the tweaking you did and the close ups of everything. You have such a neat place to live. $15 for a whole house makeover. I love it. -Steph-

Hmm... I'm not sure I consider all that tweaking... more like re-decorating!! Haha, it was cracking me up following you around with all the tweaking you do to fit one piece in. But it's so much fun, isn't it? I enjoyed the trip around your home. It is warm and wonderfully prim and I love all your pieces!!

Oh my goodness! Everything looks so nice the way you did it. Love the new table - and the price!
Fun to know that the chain reaction caused from one piece being changed happens to other people, too. :)

Tammy, your home is amazing. You certainly have the knack for prim decorating.
I have heard wonderful things about Hawaii... but some friends just went on an all inclusive trip to the Bahama's and they said it was the best trip they had ever gone on...Everything was included in the price they paid so they didn't have to worry about spending on food and drinks and such. I am not much of a traveler so I can't speak from experience... mabye someday.
Where ever you go, have a blast.
Happy Labor Day

Tam, everything looks divine. Love those transformations you did on the table. We use to live over in England and we got the chance to travel to Scotland. I absolutely loved it there. It is such a beautiful place. The people there are so nice too. It's not tropical but it is rich in history and wonder scenery. Hope that helps. :).

Love everything. Your home looks amazing! For a travel, I vote for a Caribbean Island, I was in some of them when I take some cruises from Puerto Rico. St Barts, Jamaica, Aruba, Curazao and others are beautiful island with azing hotels and white beaches. Probably you know, that I am a Caribbean girl, I born in Puerto Rico which is an US Territory in the Caribbean.Last year, I made a post about it,go and see how is my island ( If you make a good coordination you can take a Cruise and visit some islands in the area.

Hi Tammy, I have just found your lovely blog. I love the table you found what a bargain! Have you considered Australia....I know we are far away from you but well worth the visit. The beaches, outback, blue mountains etc. I went to Uluru and Darwin for the first time last year and it was fantastic, great scenery, blew me away. You would love Tasmania too...very old world charm, old cottages and villages. Well worth a start saving. Maybe we could catch up while you were in Sydney!
