My Mom’s Been At It Again!!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Well, my Moms been out in the garage wood shop again.

You’ve seen my stove board and my sink board.

Now I have….

a Bathtub Board!!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I saw one of these quite awhile back somewhere online.

And I have wanted one ever since.

Sorry I can’t remember now where it was I first saw it at.

Mom brought me over a board for my tub.

And today I was able to get it all painted, aged and put into place.

Yes, another hubby head shaking moment when he came in from work today!!     Heehee!

I have been struggling some with the display though.

Let me walk you through my process.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I started out with this…

I didn't like the white candle stick at all!!

So, I changed it to this….

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Better but I wasn’t sure about the brush and mirror.

Looked a bit cluttered to me.

Plus I wasn’t sure about the white chamber pot being behind the white pitcher.

It looks okay in photos, but in person it all sort of blended in together.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I decided to switch the plate and the chamber pot around and I removed the brush/mirror set.

This is what I have for now.

I am not crazy about the display on the board and would love some suggestions if you have any.

Still loving the board though.

Thank you Mommy for my tub board!!

You are the Best!!

Until Next Time…

Take Care and Blessings to you All!!

That is so cool! I have seen a bath board on SALTBOX FARM blog and she has been the only one.
Your bathtub is beautiful. I love the pitcher. Maybe you could try an old wood bowl filled with differant kind of prim soaps. Maybe a big chunky prim candle.

you have a wonderful mommy to do that for you! I just love it....I think the display you have looks great... besides... you know youll just change it later when you get your next great prim piece/find! haha

Tammy, I love it ~ I agree with Earlen, maybe a bowl with soaps, piece of homespun and a prim candle.

Love what you have done! I have a tub board, also, that I bought a while ago, and like you, I cannot for the life of me remember where I got it. I have a bowl/pitcher on it with flowers, soaps, and an old picture. I really like it.... Your mom is very talented, and how nice of her to make it for you!!

I too saw this idea in a magazine and thought it was wonderful. Your bathroom is lovely and it appears you have lots of primitive decorating props to pull this look off. Maybe a few seasonal items which you could interchange over time. Whatever you decide it will be lovely as is the rest of your home. Greetings from Maine, Julie.

Love the bath board! The chamber pot is a wonderful place to store your razor, pumice stone and stuff! I am always looking for ideas on how to hide modern everyday life things. Guess I'm in the market for a chamber pot! Have a wonderful day~

I love the bath tub board. I keep saying I want to make one but never get around to it.

Hi Tammy,
Love the bath board. I would put a hint of Fall on it with what you already have. How about a little branch of bittersweet twined around what is there? I love trying out anything I can think of that I already have just like you did. My idea of fun. :)

You think your mom might be into adoption??? I can take care of myself for the most part, but, gee, a fireplace and a tub board and stove board and a sink board might be just the kind of "grounding" I need! ;o) Love it!! I'm thinking some of your vintage wrapped soap bars somewhere....or perhaps an old bottle with a bubble bath label....Lots of fun playing time ahead me thinks!! Enjoy! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Hi Tammy, I love the bathtub board!! I too have seen one but can't remember where. It is on my list of wants when I can get back to crafting.
Keep tweaking, you will get it prim perfect.:-)

Your tub board is magnificiant Tammy! You have such a crafty mother. I must admit though I never saw your sink board before but I love it. I've been wanting one but my hubby would just kill me. He hates my stover board and a sink board might just push him over the edge.
Have a beautiful weekend,

my gosh... now I want one of these! I cant stop thinking about how cute one would look over our jacuzzi in our bath remodel! Might have to raid the neighbors barn wood pile (it collapsed!) to make one. :)

Great job to your Moma!

Wow what a Mom you have ! Lucky gal !

Love the bath board ! Heck ! I love the tub ! Wonderful bath !

Take away the mustard color towel. Just the red towel would be nice for color. Would look nice sorta draped over the board, maybe.

Paint your white candle holder black . It would add height to your display.

My two cents !

I remember those chamber pots under the bed and have actually used them at my Grandma's on the farm before she got indoor plumbing. Those were the days !

I guess that is why my Mom never put anything under the bed and I do not store anything under beds either ! :o)

Your home must be lovely !

Your Mom ROCKS! I love the board! I've seen them displayed with a magazine open and a candle. I would be a prune with that gorgeous board holding a magazine while soaking...GREAT JOB!!

I love your boards. If I could I would have one to cover up every hole in my house. Sinks, ovens, tubs, etc. I think in the end you've got everything just right. It all looks really inviting. You might just find a stranger in your tub. -Steph-

How sweet and thoughtful of her to spoil you like that...but in such a good way!
I really like how you ended up with the arrangements - very nice.

Hi Tammi! Love it love it!! The only thing I would suggest is changing the florals to something with a touch of gold, maybe some berries; I think that would tie together nicely with the golden towel? I liked the brush on the board also - said bathtime to me! As always your ideas are fantastic! Sincerely, Jeannette
