How I Spent My Saturday

Today I have been Sewing Away!

I literally have been in my sewing room since I got up this morning.

Okay, I slept in till 10am, but as sick as I have been lately, I don’t feel guilty.  :)

I actually felt like creating today, it has been a couple of weeks and it felt good just to spend the day playing.

Wanna see some of what I have made??

Well, I’m going to show you whether you do or not.  LOL!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I must invest in a new camera!!

Maybe it just may eyes, but I doubt it, my photos never look crisp no matter how hard I try!

I made some prim rag dolls out of burlap!!!

They turned out so cute in person.

They were made from vintage burlap sacks and there are some graphics on the back side of the dolls.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I lined the underneath of the burlap so the stuffing doesn't show.

They are, however, completely stuffed with rags, well.. fabric remnants but it is all the same as far as look and feel.

I used true old fabrics for all their clothing and patches.  They all have been aged for that olde’ worn appearance.

Sorry the photos don’t pick up that too well.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I also made some church dolls today.

I Love ‘em!!

My first time making these.

Shown is one made of linen fabric, but I have two made of burlap drying.

Yes, I do have an obsession with burlap!! :)

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I will show off the burlap church dolls in my next post.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I’m not sure what I am going to do with these.

I think I’m going to keep the church dolls for me.

The others dolls, well, Mom and I have been looking into opening a booth at a local craft and antiques shop.

So I may put these up for that.

I have to get some inventory made up, or will never get one open.

Who knows?

*You know me and when I plan on something, it never seems to happen. Heehee!

I may keep them all or end up listing them on Etsy.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I don’t work tomorrow so my plans are to create some more goodies.

I have a few ideas for some different things.

We’ll see.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

It has been Gorgeous here in Southern IL. the past few days.

Temps in the High 50’s to low 60’s!!

Woohoo!! I’ll take it!!

Hope it stays this way all winter long!

Also don’t forget to sign up for my giveaway!

Tammy, So glad you are feeling better. Love your dolls especially the church dolls. I remember when I was small I spent lots of time in church as Daddy was a pastor. Some of my fondest memories was sitting between the pews in the floor playing with a church doll Mother had made me. Nothing like these but a church doll. Thanks for jogging my memory back to many moons ago. Hope you continue to feel better and can't wait to see more of your goodies.

Love your sweet little dolls. The tiny one is my fav. Good luck with your selling booth. I sold in three Places once. It was fun but it came to a close. My items are now at a small cafe. Sleeping til 10 sounds great to me. You needed the rest so good for you. Praying you get your strength & complete recovery fast. Blessings!

Tam, I am sorry to say this but your carmea does a super duper job.
ALL of you photo's you post come out FABULOUS, you just want Brett to buy you a NEW camera, LOL, (you know I am joking with you)You know me well enough.I LOVE your dolls and the church dolls came out GREAT! I love that you used burlap, they look so prim. When I look at them I see a little girl in the 1800's playing with them.
You are very talented and I am glad you had a whole day in your craft room having fun!
That would be awesome you and your Mom, which is also very talented to open up a shop(antique) and have all you homemade goodies there for people to enjoy and buy. I will have to tell Ken we have to move because I need your Mom to make me that pie safe she made you, HEHEHE. I really mean this if we lived closer I would ask if I could order one from your Mom, and I forgot to tell you you and your Mom look so alike. Your Mom is a beautfiul lady and your Dad is a BIG GUY!
Well girlie, I have alot more to say but not on a comment, I hope you are feeling better everyday my friend.
I hope you are NOT lifting anything heavy!
Love and Hugs,

Your little dollies are so adorable, I love the little baby the dolly is holding. What a nice touch lining them, it almost looks like osnaburg with them lined. I'm really loving the burlap, Tam.

I love them, as well, Tammy! I still haven't tried any type of dolls yet, but am so looking forward to it. I especially like the "Church Dolls" and the faceless ones. They're just so PRIM! :D

Sorry to here you've not been well, but I expect you're on the mend, I hope. You take care of you, and when you get a chance, please check out my post from earlier today... I mentioned you, and linked up to your blog, as one of *your* posts was the inspiration for my latest finished project. ;)
