Fall Decor Pt.2 And A Challenge Answer – Why I’m Me. :)

APP ~Tammy

Hello All!

Well, Hopefully this post will be a little more slow paced than my previous one!

My last one was sort of a jump on and jump off post.

Lately that is all I have been able to accomplish on my blog.  Life sure hasn’t slowed down any.

Lets try to relax and enjoy some photos.

I didn’t do as much decorating this year, but I am proud of myself that I actually accomplished some.

Below are some more pictures of Fall 2012 here at the Young’s Homestead.

A few may look like the same shot, but I promise they are different. LOL!

I played around with all of the photos @Befunky.com.

I got this large crock bowl at a local antique store last week.

I love it and I couldn't pass it up for $15.

I have it filled up with dried sunflower heads and tiny gourds.

Well, that is pretty much it for the Fall decor this year.

I have a bunch more goodies packed up, but with the house being on the market I wanted to try to keep it somewhat simple this year.

Yes, wish me luck when Christmas rolls around and if the house isn’t sold.

My house at Christmas time usually looks like Santa threw up all over it. LOL!!

*Those are the words my children have used to describe it in the past. :)

I am hoping to find the time soon to get outside and do a little decorating on my porch.

Now for the second part of my post title.

As some of you may know, Karen @ My Colonial Home is hosting a Blog Challenge with a winner!

CLICK HERE to pop over to Karen’s blog and read more about it.

She has challenged us to make a blog post about, “How You Came Up With The Name Of Your Blog”.

So, here is my entry…

I am afraid there is no cute or funny story behind it.

Basically, it all started with eBay.

Well, way back on Feb 14, 1998 I joined eBay but gave myself just a boring generic name.  As I began to sell more and more antique and primitive type items I wanted to change my name to reflect that.

On September 12, 2000, I changed my ID to a*primitive*place, and so it began.

From there, I went on to purchase the web url www.aprimitiveplace.net on May 13, 2004.

I joined a few other selling sites using that name in the past, but no longer sell on them.

So, of course, when I decided to open a blog over three years ago in January of 2009, A Primitive Place was the name that I picked for it.

And there you have it….

The Oh, So Exciting story of my blog name. :)

Karen, I hope you don’t take points away from me for being boring. Heehee!

Unless… this is my New Normal.

Oh No, I sure hope not!  :-O

Take Care and Talk Soon,

zTam

Love what you do and how you do it, Tam....Gorgeously simple, and simply gorgeous touches. And, wow - what a steal on that crock bowl. I love the dried sunflowers....I didn't plant any, but had a chipper or bird - or someone - plant a volunteer....but, alas, one plant doesn't yield a lot of heads. Glad to see you joined in on Karen's challenge - it's been fun reading about everyone's "roots." But, yikes...do I feel like the "new kid on the block!" Have a great new week ahead....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Your homestead is beautiful as always.
I love the kitchen and the pumkins around your home.
You NEVER disappoint when you decorate for any holiday.
You are always in my prayers.
The right buyer's will come I just know it and you and Brett will find your new homestead and make it all yours.

Morning Tammy,
I have to say I feel for you about your job...I was at that point when I finally retired. My reasons became very political for me as far as 'the business politics' that is...it just got the best of me - some can do and some CAN'T DO...not very fair. So it was time to leave before I stepped over the line and said something...lol
I wish you luck with your decision there.

Your Fall decorating is lovely - I love that it isn't all gopped up - (not a word is it???) Done very tastefully.
I sure hope you get some solid bites on selling your home - it has to be so frustrating.

THANK YOU FOR JOINING IN ON MY CHALLENGE...it's not boring either...it tells it like it is!

Blessings,
Karen

Tammy the decorations are just like you. Beautiful, and the blogging community will take the new Normal. Life is too short to spend time doing something you don't love. Find something you do. I am in the same boat, have shown it, couple of bites, but no offers. Well if you don't count the one that wanted me to self finance.lol
