Hydrangea's And Homecoming

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

The other day I was at my Mom and Dads, I had completely forgotten that they had a hydrangea bush at the side of the house.

It has been there all my life and it completely slip my mind.  Um, Duhhh!

All Summer long I could've been going over there and cutting myself flower bunches!!!

Trust me, I will be cutting them next year.

Anyway, these are the ones that were left.

It is too late in the year for them to turn their wonderful purplish color, they were actually starting to die as is.

But I still like them, even if they still have a bunch of green in them.

I filled my 2 baskets that I have sitting on the fireplace mantel.

I love the look of dried’s.

Anything natural, I LOVE IT!

I also added more roses to my drying rack.

It still doesn't look the way I want it to, but it will take time.

I need to go buy more.

I am wanting to stuff it full with dried roses.

A few days ago, I found this wonderful old rag rug at a local antique store.

I have it in my basement in front of our television.

It does have a lot of pink in it.  Nope I’m not a huge fan of pink decor.

But for the price, I couldn't pass it up.

This past week was our high school’s Homecoming.

The kids have Spirit Week the week of Homecoming, each day has a certain theme.

One of them was Disney day.  They were to dress up as any character from a Disney film.

We lucked out and found this dress at GW, all I had to do was cut off some of the length.

My daughter chose to be, Esmeralda from the The Hunchback of Notre-Dame.

Even though one kid asked her if she was Capt. Jack Sparrow.

Last night was the dance.

I loved her simple black dress this year.

Love the hydrangea's. This past week was homecoming week at our high school too. Although I am not there anymore, it is still a big deal in our town. The various clubs paint the windows on the shops in downtown and the day before the game is a big homecoming parade. How fun. Love your daughter's costume. :)

Hi Tammy! Thank you so much for your words on my blog post today! It is so very hard losing a parent, I lost my dad in 97 and it seems like the grief is much worse with my mom being gone now.

Love the look of the hydrangeas!! I have missed so much in blogland, trying to catch up. Your daughter is beautiful and congrats to her on designing that T-shirt! Love that cabinet that you got also! Lucky you!!

What a beautiful daughter you have. Loved her choice of dress too. The hydrangeas still look pretty. I would love to find a bush. Don't beat yourself up, over forgetting the bush. You have had a lot stress this year. Just laugh at it and go on. (It is kinda funny you forgot about it. When all prim lovers love them so much)lol
