Hello All My Blogging Friends.
I hope you all have had a fabulous weekend.
I actually went to a yard sale Friday!
Do you know, I think, this may be the 1st one all season!
I know, Right??!!
Every year I wait anxiously for YS season to start but never seem to make it to many.
This year was even worse than usual.
Summer really FLEW BY didn't it?
Any way, on to my finds…
I will start with my favorite.
Look at this fabulous cabinet I got for $25.
It it a fabulous, primitive, handmade, cabinet.
And look at what it folds out to….
How neat is that!
I guess, it should be called a secretary, huh :)
Wonderful depression glass knobs.
Now, unfortunately, someone in approx. the 1970’s decided to give it a redo.
Why, Oh Why!!!
Adding this, oh so lovely, wallpaper to the front of the lower doors.
Let me tell you, that stuff was really STUCK on there!
Wait, lets not forget the beautiful contact paper inside the drawers…
Nothing I couldn't fix though.
So, I snatched it right up, took it home and got to work.
Luckily for me, the contact paper pulled right out…
Not so lucky with the lower cabinet, though. I did eventually pry that horrible paper loose, revealing the awesome original glass front.
I was going to give it a fresh job, and I still may, but for right now, I just left it as is.
I really don’t have anywhere for it upstairs, so I decided to use it in the basement family room.
There is a little cubby hole down there, it is under the fireplace upstairs.
No, I’m not sure why they dug the basement out that way??
Any way, I was so happy to see the new old cabinet fit perfectly in there!
I also picked up a few more goodies at the sale.
Like these two small white plates for my collection.
These are inside my breakfast nook cupboard.
Not bad for .50 cents!
An old wool blanket,
A vintage wall pocket, that someone repurposed into a lamp sometime in the past.
I think it would be so cute with a little red and white checked shade, Don't You?? :)
A couple old linens and a pair of old pillow cases…
An old covered bowl…
An old Bible, which she gave to me.
An Annalee sheep.
I don't really collect Annalee but thought it was cute, so, home it came.
And lastly, a Huge piece of vintage red fabric.
Now, it is Not this Funky Red color that the flash is making it appear.
I don't know why every photo I took of it turned out this way!? :(
It is just normal bright red, perfect for Santa coats. ;)
While I am showing off goodies, thought I would share the little crock bowl I picked up last week at a local antique store.
It is such a cute little thing.
I recently did a little tweaking to my fireplace.
I moved the crocks from the top of the fireplace down to the ledge and changed the mantel out to this…
I really like the neutral coloring of it now.
Here are some more photos for ya and yes, all have been played with @ befunky.com :)
I also did a little tweaking at the foot of the stairs in the basement.
This is your view when you come walking down the stairs.
I did keep one of the walls down here mustard yellow.
It is the largest wall and I thought I needed to keep a little color. So, I left it and have added white accent pieces to pull the white over.
Here is the very last of my Fall 2012 decorating inside. Just a few photos I didn't get around to sharing in my previous post.
Last but certainly not least!!!
Recently my youngest daughter was asked to design the “Senior Girls” T-Shirt.
Last year she won a design contest on another shirt design.
Not time for that one to come out though. It is for the PINK OUT basketball game later in the year.
I will be sure to share when it comes in.
Anyway, onto this one.
Here is the design she came up with.
On the back is the signature of all the senior boy football players.
Didn’t she do an Amazing Job!!!
I LOVE IT!!!
Way to go, baby!
Well, It’s almost time for Brett to get home and for the Steelers to play, so I guess I need to head off and get a few things finished.
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting with me.
Until Next Time…
Take Care and Prim Filled Blessings To You All,
