Bears 4 My Booth

APP ~Tammy

Hello All!

Well, lately I have been working away on some of my burlap teddy bears for my booth.

I have three completely finished and four more still in the works.

All have been made completely of vintage burlap feed sack bag fabric.

I know I say this every time but I believe these may be my favorite so far.

Especially this one…

Just look at that face! :)

Her name is Elsie.

She measures approx. 16.5” tall

I made her a little differently than usual.

She is un-jointed.

Her arms and legs do have some floppily movement to them though.

Her head is not jointed in any way.

She has a hump back design, just like the teddy’s of long ago.

She is rag stuffed (burlap remnants) which gives her a wonderful old, lumpy, hefty, feel to her.

Antique shoe button eyes and hand stitched nose and mouth.

Bow and patch was made from a piece of true, early blue and white calico fabric.

I am so tempted to keep her for myself!!

Here are a few more photos Elsie.

You know me, I have a tendency to get carried away…

Next is Boo-Boo bear.

He measures approx. 17.5” tall.

His name, well, is because he has boo-boo’s and primitive repaired spots all over him.

Yes, I meant to make him like that. :)

I wanted him to look well loved and repaired by Mom thru the years.

Boo has string jointed arms and legs which gives them the ability to be moved and positioned somewhat.

He is poly stuffed (Morning Glory).

Antique shoe button eyes and hand stitched nose and mouth.

Bow was made from a piece of true, early blue and white calico fabric.

Patches were made from various antique fabric scraps.

And lastly to complete the bear family there is…

He is a smaller bear measuring approx. 8” sitting.

I made him a little different this time also, he is an un-jointed bear.

He is stuffed with poly (Morning Glory).

Antique shoe button eyes and hand stitched nose and mouth.

Bow and patch were made from true antique fabric scraps.

All three bears were made to look old, worn, and primitively repaired.

They are, like all of my bears, one of a kind originals, hand made by me.

I did make these for my booth but…

if any of my blogging friends are interested in them, just drop me an email.

Elsie Has SOLD.  Thank you, Ute!

Price for Boo is $65.00 + travel fare.

Price for Peanut is $38.50 + travel fare.

I will end this post with some family photos I took. :)
