I have been working on some new bears.
Now these are simply Prim Perfect, if I do say so myself. Hehee!
Ever since I have been making these burlap bears, I have been struggling with what I see in my head, compared to what they turn out to be.
Don't get me wrong, I do like the past ones.
But even though they were prim, I wanted More Prim! Does that make sense??
Well, now I think I have it.
The perfect stuffing…. Straw!
I wasn't sure if it was going to work with burlap, but it does!!
It gives them such an old feel and appearance.
Here are three I have completely finished.
They are completely stuffed with straw, head to toe…
They are basically made like all my past teddies, hump backs, string jointed arms and legs, antique shoe button eyes, etc.
But the straw stuffing total changes the primness.
I plan on making them with straw from now on.
Yes, it does make a Horrible mess and it is a bit of a pain to get it all stuffed in there, but to me, completely worth it for the end result.
Here are some close-up pictures…
Next we have her hubby, Walter…
* I admit, Walter has stolen my heart away!! :)
And lastly, we have their odd looking child, Zedock.
I think it is the poor boys eyes, they are kind of bugged out!! :)
Can you tell the difference between these new straw stuffed ones versus my previous ones??
Not sure the photos really pick up on it, but in person there is a Huge difference.
Look for more straw stuffed, burlap teddy's, coming soon.
I’m going to try to get more done to put in my Etsy shop.
Hopefully sometime next week.
The other day I went and did a little tweaking to my booth.
I thought the table was too bare, so I added some homespun.
I want to change it to black homespun after Christmas, but for now the green will work.
Here is a couple before and after photos..
Still needs more, but the homespun helped tremendously.
I wish he would let me paint or stain that back wood wall.
That new wood throws everything off.
Maybe one day I’ll get up the nerve to ask. ;) Heehee!
And last but certainly not least…
Recently I joined in on an ornie swap hosted by Amy @ Bumble Bee Lane.
A couple of days ago my wonderful ornies arrived.
Here is what I received….
Sorry, I don't have my tree up yet, so I had to take the picture on my cupboard.
Aren’t these sooo cute!!
