Straw Stuffed Burlap Bears ~ Ornie Swap Ornies ~ And Booth Tweaking

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Hello All My Wonderful Friends Here In Blog-Land!

A lot of people sure want to win all those ornies, huh?!

I completely understand, I’m one of them.

Pick Me!! Pick Me!! LOL!! :)

If you don't know what I’m talking about,

And pop over to Brenda’s blog to read all about it!!

*One quick note…

This is not my giveaway post.

To view my blog hop giveaway post and enter, please

so you will be counted in.

I have been working on some new bears.

Now these are simply Prim Perfect, if I do say so myself. Hehee!

Ever since I have been making these burlap bears, I have been struggling with what I see in my head, compared to what they turn out to be.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the past ones.

But even though they were prim, I wanted More Prim!  Does that make sense??

Well, now I think I have it.

The perfect stuffing…. Straw!

I wasn't sure if it was going to work with burlap, but it does!!

It gives them such an old feel and appearance.

Here are three I have completely finished.

They are completely stuffed with straw, head to toe…

A Primitive Place ~ Tammy

They are basically made like all my past teddies, hump backs, string jointed arms and legs, antique shoe button eyes, etc.

But the straw stuffing total changes the primness.

I plan on making them with straw from now on.

Yes, it does make a Horrible mess and it is a bit of a pain to get it all stuffed in there, but to me, completely worth it for the end result.

Here are some close-up pictures…

And lastly, we have their odd looking child, Zedock.

I think it is the poor boys eyes, they are kind of bugged out!! :)

Can you tell the difference between these new straw stuffed ones versus my previous ones??

Not sure the photos really pick up on it, but in person there is a Huge difference.

Look for more straw stuffed, burlap teddy's, coming soon.

I’m going to try to get more done to put in my Etsy shop.

Hopefully sometime next week.

The other day I went and did a little tweaking to my booth.

I thought the table was too bare, so I added some homespun.

I want to change it to black homespun after Christmas, but for now the green will work.

Here is a couple before and after photos..

Still needs more, but the homespun helped tremendously.

I wish he would let me paint or stain that back wood wall.

That new wood throws everything off.

Maybe one day I’ll get up the nerve to ask. ;) Heehee!

And last but certainly not least…

Recently I joined in on an ornie swap hosted by Amy @ Bumble Bee Lane.

A couple of days ago my wonderful ornies arrived.

Here is what I received….

Sorry, I don't have my tree up yet, so I had to take the picture on my cupboard.

Aren’t these sooo cute!!

The snowman ornie was made by Juanita @ Sweet Vintage Home and Garden.

The flower pot ornie was made by Steph @ Front Porch Primitives.

The burlap ornie stocking was made by Michelle @ Simple Pleasures.

The angel ornie was made by Becky @ Ginger Creme Hollow.

Thank you so much, ladies!!

I cant wait to get them displayed on my tree.

And thank you again Amy for hosting this fun swap.

Love the Bears. I used to make them from peoples clothes (memory bear) I don't even know why I quit but maybe will try again one day. I will just be putting our little 2 ft tree up again...Just way to small in this house and with 4 dogs and 2 cats it is in the way but we do string lights all over outside and the neighbors enjoy them too. I am behind on my gifts so will have to get busy soon.I have been listing things in my blog and have a lot of nice dog and cat beds...check it out if you get a chance. There is a link on right side bar on my regular blog to go to my selling blog. Take care and can't wait to see new bears when you have them finished :)

I love your bears with the straw stuffing. Your booth does look fuller with the addition of the fabric. What about stapling some burlap on the back wall? I've always done that in my booths to cover pegboard. It's not too expensive, and you can always find a use for it when you take it down.

Love the homespun green in your booth. Maybe hanging a coverlet or quilt on the wood wall would soften it up. Take care, Janice
