Kitchen Redo ~ Picture Overload!!!

Finally, I have the kitchen and breakfast room painted and put back together.

I am really pleased with how it turned out.

Even Hubby likes it, which is definitely a plus.

I am still trying to figure out what to put above the fireplace.

Instead of just sticking something, anything, up there, I decided to leave it bare, until I decide..

Plus, I’m not sure I like how I have the top of the fireplace decorated, may need to do some tweaking to it.

Other than that, I really love the new look.

Notice my new curtains??

Well, actually they are repurposed curtains.

I wanted some prim swags, but since I couldn't find any I liked, nor do I have the extra cash to buy them right now, I came up with these by accident!!

You see, My Mom brought me over some tab top curtains she was no longer using.

I had originally thought about hanging them up, then pinning one corner up.

But I didn't like it at all.

Think, Think, Think.

I then noticed a hem, across the bottom of the curtains, humm, I wonder???

So, what I did was, hang them upside down and backwards.

I took the inside tab, pulled it up and put it inside the curtain rod, cut off all the remaining tabs, leaving only the cute buttons, and POOF, prim swags!

I LOVE the way they turned out.

They are even cuter in person, if I do say so myself.

 

I did the same thing for the curtains above the sink.

Except on these, I had to cut off some of the length and add a curtain rod hem, everything else was done the same way as the door curtains.

So cute! And you sure can’t beat the price…

Free!!!

Well, there you have it, my new lighter and brighter kitchen.

If you have any ideas of what I should hang above my fireplace, I would love to hear, because I’m having a creative block right now. ;)

Painting The Kitchen Today

 

 

Yes, that is my plan.

If I would quit getting called out to work!! :(

I have taken everything down off the walls.

I still need to clean off the counters and the upper portion of cabinets, and then I will be ready to start.

Why am I painting it??

I'm just in the mood for a change.

I do love the color it is, but it has been like this for years.

With Spring, sun shine and warmth, I’m ready to lighten it up in there.

Its only paint, if I hate it, I can always paint it back.

So here is basically what it looks like now…

 

I will be sure to show before and after’s when I get it finished. ;)

Well, they were pretty while they lasted!! LOL!!

Yes, yesterday my gorgeous blooms stood proudly in the baskets…

So pretty and full!!

Then I went to bed and woke up to this…

Oh, NO!!!

Heehee!!

Yes, I knew they would wilt and shrink, I just didn't expect it to be so quickly.

Poor little things!!! :(

I’m hoping they actually dry and don’t fall apart completely.

Only time will tell I guess.

So there they sit, still proudly displayed in my living room.

I don't have the heart to throw them out.

I am considering adding more to the basket, let them shrink, then add more, etc., until the basket is full again.

Who knows! Maybe.

All I can say is…

At least Wheezy didn't eat them!! :)
