Well, this morning I did a little more tweaking in the dining room.
I am wanting to make this space more farmhouse primitive and less colonial primitive.
I love both styles but I’m just in the mood for a change.
So, I decided to replace the coverlet tablecloth with an old quilt I have.
In my opinion, the colors in this quilt go perfectly.
This is the quilt I have had hanging in the foyer for years.
(Yes, now I have to find something for that space.)
But to be honest, it needed to be moved.
The sun that comes through the front window and has faded a large section of it.
Plus, I believe that is what is causing the fabric to start to split.
Time to move its location to prevent more damage.
I also did a little tweaking to the top of my red cabinet.
Yes, it may be a little too early for geraniums, but I don’t care. :)
Don’t worry, my wonderful coverlet, that was a swap goody from my friend Tricia, didn't go too far.
I used it to add another layer to my bed.
It goes pretty good here and helps pull in the brown from the long pillow case above.
While we are in my bedroom, I will share another project I finished up.
Remember that barn red paint?
Well, I used it to repaint my fireplace in here…
Originally, I had it solid black but I always thought it needed something.
To me, this looks much better.
One last quick tweak I will share before signing off is in my laundry.
My mom had made a prim stove board awhile back and since she wasn’t using it for anything, I decided to try it on top of my washer.
I think it helps add a little more prim to this small space.
The old framed Salvo advertisement is my Grandpa.
He was a coal miner and was picked to appear in the add.
It is hard to decorate in here because it is approximately the size of a closet.
I do have some plans for this space eventually, when I get the time and the money.
But for now, this will do.
Well, that’s it for me today.
Almost time for work.
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit.
Until Next Time….
