Front Door And First Yard Sale Of The Season Finds

A Primitive Place ~ Tammy

Last week, I decided to go ahead and paint the front door white.

It does stand out a lot more now.

I did have plans to replace the front door with one that had rounded glass.

But now that we have decided to sell again, I’m going to leave that for the new owners.

BEFORE:

I hate to admit it but I still can’t decide which way I want it.

I truthfully like them both.

Above photo I took the other day, then noticed, I forgot to move my boxes back into place.

I still need to get outside and give my porch posts a fresh coat of paint.

Hopefully, soon I can knock that off my list of to-do’s.

I went to my first yard sales of the season this past weekend.

There really wasn’t many sales but I was able to hit two on Friday and one on Saturday.

Most of the things I bought were Kelsey, more details about that soon.

But I was able to find these goodies at one sale….

Two ironstone platters.

Small brown and white plate.

Old wooden brush.

Small white basket.

Yardage of old lace on card.

I put my platters and small basket in the breakfast nook cabinet.

Oh, before I forget again…

A couple of weeks ago I found this adorable old planter at GW and had to bring it home with me.

I hung the brush in the dining with another one from my collection.

At another sale, I found a small white wicker trash can, which I forgot to take photo of.

And this wonderful wicker hamper on rollers for $3 bucks.

Perfect for the kids bathroom.

All in all not a bad haul for the chilly weekend.

Especially when there are some weekends I don’t find a thing!

I was thrilled with my goodies. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit!

Take Care and Talk Soon,

Tammy

Love the choice you made on the front door. Love it Tammy. What some neat finds at the yard sales. Love the hamper on wheels and the white ironstone is farmhouse perfect. Neat old brush also. Your home is beautiful and someone should snap it up right away. What fun to hunt another house to make into your home. I have lived in our home for over 35 years and would so love to start over. But don't guess that is in God's plan as of now. Take care and have a wonderful evening.

The door looks great, I like the white side panels. I had that exact same screen door until a major wind storm this winter tore is off and totally destroyed it. I miss it :(
Nice yard sale finds. Still too cold here for yard sales, but we have had decent weather for afternoon walks.
Take care and you are always in my prayers.

Oh Tammy!! The door is fabulous!! I know you're torn between the two but it looks gorgeous!! Maybe if you love the blue that much, paint it back blue AND paint the screen door blue..? But, I love the door being white as an accent!

I must say Tammy I like the wide side lights...I didn't think I would as they would not let the door stand out but lo and behold it makes the door even better...GOOD CHOICE.

What wonderful finds - there are no garage sales here yet...way too cold and wet.

Girl, you found some great things! That brush looks like my annie sloan wax brush. I love the look of your front door. I think it stands out painted white. Nice and fresh. Are those just pieces of wood stacked up beside your front door? I LOVE that!

Well, I thought I liked the blue, but boy does the white POP!!! It looks so classy. I love the transfer plate. My daughter collects sets of transfer in different colors. She has blue, red, purple, brown and a set of multi color. They are all by Clarice Cliff.
I love yard sales
