A Junk’in Life Lately

A Primitive Place ~ Tammy

Hello Everyone!

I am so happy you decided to stop by for a visit.

A Junk’in Life Lately!

Yep, that pretty much describes it.

Whether it has been clearing out junk from this house or going to yard sales, a Junk search has pretty much taken over my life.

My booth is doing pretty good.

Actually, I am going to be opening another booth the beginning of July.

I decided against going to St. Mary’s, for now.

It is too far away for all the stuff I am wanting to clear out.

Since my booth down the street is doing so well, I decided to open a second one in there.

I am making quite a bit of progress on clearing out the house.

The hardest part, of course, is deciding what to keep and what to get rid of.

No, the house isn’t sold yet, but I know eventually it will, so I am trying to get as much cleared out as I can.

I walk through the house asking myself, Do you love it? or Is it just there to be there?

Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times of asking myself that to make a decision. :)

So far I am happy with the progress I am making.

This has been a fabulous year for YS so far.

I have really gotten a lot of great finds at actual yard sale prices.

Yeah!

Below are some random photos of the haul I have pulled in lately.

See, I told you!

This has been an awesome year for junkin’!

All of this found in one weekend.

At an estate yard sale I found these wonderful old bubble glass frames.

They do have some damage to the frame, but for the price I had to bring them home with me.

I cleaned them up, made a make-do backing for them, painted them and now they are for sale in my booth.

The photos aren’t the best, they were taken with my phone.

But in person, I am pleased with how they turned out.

Another find, and this one I had to keep for myself.

A wonderful old handmade grater.

The woman’s whose estate this was, her father made the grater and it is signed as such on back.

I love getting to know a little history on the items, don’t you?

I also found a little bit of time yesterday to do some sewing.

I admit it, my mojo for sewing has been null and void lately.

I have three teddy bears cut out, waiting and waiting to be sewn and given life.

Hopefully soon!

Instead I made a couple of pillows.

The first one is a large burlap pillow.

I absolutely loved the design on the bag.

I completely rag stuffed it, to give it more of an old look and feel.

Plus, I fully lined the burlap, so the stuffing doesn't show.

*Yes, lazy IPhone photos again! I apologize.

The other pillow I made was from an antique quilt piece.

Don’t you just love the colors and early fabrics in this quilt piece?

I was so tempted to keep it for myself.

I do have more things to share, but this post is getting longer than I expected.

So, I will sign off for now but I will be back soon.

Take Care and Talk Soon,

Tammy

Wowsers...I could look for a month of weekends and not find half of those treasures in these parts!! In fact, I sort of gave up on them here - just not into old Avon decanters, tupperware and kids clothes. :o Glad to hear you booth is doing well. Sorry I've been so long gone - but, well, things happen. Trying desperately to pull myself outta that deep, dark, hole... Happy weekend! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Hi Tammy,
I love your home and the way you have it decorated. I so admire the photos you take of your home and go back and reread prior posts and look at all the photos. I get so much inspiration and ideals that I want to try in my home. Thank you for sharing. I saw a house for sale in the picture of your booth. How much is it and can you ship it to NC?
Hugs,
Lynn

Woah! I love the finds! Good gracious did you make a haul! What is the tall wooden piece to the left of one of the first pictures? My favorite piece has got to be the handmade grater. Love it! Man, you all find quite the primitive finds out there! I must admit, I have not been to any ys. My favorites are development sales. One stop shopping!

Glad to hear that selling is going well! Great pillow!

Blessings!
Heather
