Wow! I cant believe it has almost been a month since my last post.
This Summer has been unlike any other! Crazy the way it is flying by.
I’ve been noticing on Pinterest and Blog-Land a lot of Fall decor and posts.
I love Fall, truly I do, but this year I’m not ready for it yet.
I feel like, I’m still waiting on Summer to begin.
Seriously, we have had such a mild Summer here in Southern IL.
I’m not complaining, well, not really.
Usually the humidity is so bad you cant stand to be outside.
This Summer, when its not raining, the days have been so pleasant and the nights can get down right chilly.
So, this year I must say…
I’m not quite ready for Fall.
I’m enjoying our so-called Summer too much.
Actually, quite a bit.
Brett and I enjoyed a day away.
It was another beautiful day, so we took a little trip to Giant City for a picnic.
Sometimes it amazes the beauty that surrounds us here in Southern Illinois.
While we were enjoying the gorgeous views from the top of the water tower, I noticed Bald Knob Cross.
It is toward the upper right hand side.
Anyway, I have lived in Southern IL. all my life and have never been.
Well, not since I have been old enough to remember.
So we decided to go.
Even though it is visible from where we were, it is actually about an hour away.
Something I did not know, I thought it would be right down the road, since I could see it.
(Above) I loved this view when we were arriving.
Wow! This cross is Huge!
I knew it was big, but I didn't truly realize the magnitude of it until I was standing in front of it.
And More gorgeous views from up here.
Humm, I could see the cross from the water tower but I cant see the water tower from the cross. ;)
While we were driving home, we came across this most adorable little shop.
Come to find out, it is Rendleman Orchards, and it has been around for over a 100 years.
Wow! Never knew it was here.
As soon as I walked in I thought…
Oh, I want all of that up there!!
Unfortunately, none of it was for sale. (Didn’t really think it was.)
The entire display were items from the actual farm through the years.
It had been a long time, way too long, since Brett and I just got out and had fun.
We had a wonderful day together!
Kortney went up to stay with my Sister for a few days and when it was time to pick her up, we decided to meet at the Zoo in St. Louis and make a day of it.
Mom was able to get the day off from work, so her and dad went too.
If you are ever traveling near or through the St. Louis, Mo. area, put the Zoo on your must do list.
It is one of the very Best, plus it’s FREE!
(Below) Do you see who’s trying to hide in there??
(Below) Yes, everyone thought this was sooo Funny!!
Me, I didn’t find the humor in it. (Hehee!)
(Above) I really wanted to try to reach in and pet one, but I figured it was a No-No.
I’m going to sign off for now…
But I will be back tomorrow with photos of our trip to “The Longest Yard Sale” or also known as “Hwy 127 Sale”.
This was our first time back in a few years.
I had a blast.
I found quite a bit and at wonderful prices.
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting with me.
